This is Justine. Our warm, deeply empathetic and kind-hearted practising accredited dietitian.
She’s also the director and senior dietitian of Nutrition for Weight Loss Surgery (NFWLS).
Justine is passionate about changing people’s mindsets around weight loss and nutrition. She wants nothing more than for you to know that you don’t have to be hungry and deprived to improve your health and lose weight. Your goals can be achieved whilst enjoying the foods you love. After all, Justine knows that food isn’t just about nutrition; it’s also social and pleasurable.
Justine has been an accredited dietitian for over two decades and says it was an obvious career choice all those years ago. A great way for her to combine several of her passions, including food, health and helping others. Justine feels the best measure of her success as a dietitian is whether people feel empowered to make positive change and achieve their goals when teamed with her support. And, she’s not only passionate about helping patients with their goals. She’s also an avid supporter of dietitians, offering mentoring to aspiring students and those coming into the field.
Most of Justine’s career has been focused on weight management within private practice, and she has worked exclusively in bariatrics since 2013. She is also a member of the Dietitians Association of Australia (DAA), the Australian Centre for Eating Behaviours (ACFEB) and the Australian and New Zealand Metabolic and Obesity Surgery Society (ANZMOSS). Recently, Justine was invited to sit on the global Allurion Regional Dietetic Board. This position will enable her to keep up to date with all the latest technology and updates on the Allurion Gastric Balloon—a non-surgical procedure performed by Dr Balalis with Justine’s nutritional and dietetic support.
Justine’s ideal day off work would be a hills adventure that includes wineries, stopping off somewhere yummy to eat and a spot of homewares shopping thrown in for good measure. You might also be surprised to learn that Justine has authored and co-authored multiple books to do with weight loss surgery, from meal planners and recipe books to shopping guides.
